Seoul Semiconductor Invited as Representative of Mid-Sized Enterprises to Korea-Vietnam State Banquet
Contributing to Strengthening Strategic Relations with Vietnam

Global LED specialist Seoul Semiconductor (CEO CH Lee) was invited as the representative of mid-sized enterprises to the state banquet held at the Blue House Reception Hall on August 11, in honor of the state visit of Tô Lâm, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

This state banquet was a significant occasion as it marked the first time President Lee Jae-myung welcomed a foreign head of state as a national guest since the launch of the new administration. CEO Lee Chung-hoon attended the event alongside major business leaders, including SK Group Chairman and KCCI Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Euisun, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, and Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin, to discuss expanding economic cooperation with Vietnam.

Leading Bilateral Economic Cooperation through Local Production Base in Vietnam
Seoul Semiconductor’s invitation to the state banquet is seen as recognition of its significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations through tangible economic cooperation with Vietnam. Since 2017, the company has been operating a manufacturing plant in Vietnam, relocating a substantial portion of its LED chip production facilities to the country, thereby driving local job creation and technology transfer.

Contributing to Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
During the summit, the “Joint Statement on Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” was adopted, and MOUs worth a total of USD 4 billion were signed, further strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries. The entry of mid-sized companies like Seoul Semiconductor into the Vietnamese market is considered a foundation for these achievements.

A Seoul Semiconductor official said, “Our participation in the state banquet is a recognition of our role as a key driver of Korea-Vietnam economic cooperation. We will continue to contribute to the shared prosperity of both nations through sustained investment and technology collaboration in Vietnam.”

Reaffirming Status as a Global LED Leader
Seoul Semiconductor is the world’s third-largest and Korea’s No. 1 optical semiconductor company, possessing innovative LED technologies such as the SunLike natural light full-spectrum LED and the No-wire, No-package WICOP. Participation in this state banquet serves as meaningful confirmation of the company’s status as a global representative of Korean industry.
